The First English Winner Of The US Open

The South African born English professional golfer Justin Peter Rose shows most of his gold performances on the PGA Tour. He also keeps his membership on the European Tour. The major championship that the player won in his golf career was at the US Open held in the year 2013 at the Merion Golf Club. This victory had made him the first English player who won a major after Mick Faldo since 1996 and the first one to achieve an US open title after Tony Jacklin since 1970.

In 2007 Justin Rose won the order of merit on the European Tour. He was ranked in the top ten of the world from November 2007 to July 2008. Rose won his first World Golf Championship event in the year 2012 March at the WGC Cadillac Championship. This also led him to the world top 10 list. In 2013 Justin Rose finished second to Tiger Woods in the Arnold Palmer Invitational. This took him to a ranking as high as 3rd in the world.

The year 2012 recorded a number of great performances from the golfer. Rose recorded his best performance in the PGA Championship of 2012. Europe’s spectacular comeback against the US was marked by the performance showed by Rose in the 2012 Ryder Cup. In the same year he also won the 8-man Turkish Airlines World Golf Final where he defeated Lee Westwood in the final by a single stroke. After progressing with a cent percent record from his group, in the semi finals he defeated Tiger Woods by a single stroke.

In the US Open held in the year 2013 at Merion Golf Club, Justin Rose won his maiden major championship over Phil Mickelson and Jason Day by two strokes. In 43 years, Rose became the first Englishman who won the US open.
